First off, this thing is a game-changer if you like hi-tech looking equipment -in or under your aquarium. If you don't hide it on the back of your aquarium, or cover it with plants or rocks, it definitely makes a statement.
The external controller shows the actual water temperature, acts like a thermometer, and with the SET button you can set your desired temperature. It also shows current power, if that matters by any mean.
I really like how the controller looks when it's heating: the borders turn red, and when it's in standby, it's white, so I recommend putting the controller in a visible place with all your fancy equipment, if you are into hi-tech looking aquariums setups. You're guests will surely be impressed too.
